Alejandro “Alex” Garcia Jr., an industrial painter, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021.
Alex is survived by his mother, Maria Garcia; his wife, Barb (Rotzien) Garcia; his children, Amanda, Christopher and Sara; his grandchildren, Wesley, Donovan, Ethan and Aliya; his siblings, Johnny, Esmeralda, Letty, Creselda, Manuel, Dianira, Armando; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rudy Garcia and his father, Alejandro Garcia Sr.
Alex was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas on February 25, 1956 to Alejandro and Maria (Tovar) Garcia. He attended school in Carrizo Springs and graduated from Roseville High School in Roseville, Minnesota. He received his certificate in auto body repair from Granite Falls Vocational School. On January 3, 1979 he married Marie (Krause) Garcia. They raised their three children in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. On October 24th, 2009 he remarried Barb and settled in Linwood, Minnesota.
Alex enjoyed both watching sports as well as playing softball, volleyball and bowling with his church leagues. For many years Alex helped teach Sunday school at church and helped with Fare Share. One of his favorite things was family camping trips to Minnesota state parks while his kids were growing up. Later in life his camping trips changed a little to include a camper that he enjoyed with his wife, Barb. He also loved taking the grandkids to Wisconsin Dells in the summer.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 with a gathering beginning at 11:00 AM at Sunnyside Free Lutheran Church, 22745 Typo Creek Drive, NE, Stacy, Minnesota. There will be a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall at the church. Face masks are strongly encouraged.
