After a long illness, Amanda "Mandy" Carol Darwin of Wyoming, Minnesota passed away on February 13, 2025, with her loving husband John by her side. Amanda was immensely proud of her two boys, Nathan and Lucas. Amanda is also survived by her parents, Julie & Gary Kelly, and Jim Philen; her siblings, Chris (Jodi) Philen, Laura Philen (Mike Wiles), Renee (Mike) Sandidge, Sarah (Raoul) Alojado, Erin Kelly, Matt (Evie) Kelly, and Brad (Jessica) Kelly, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mandy was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Larry and Carol Krank.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with degrees in Human Relations and Communications. She was as smart as she was beautiful. Amanda had a long and prized career as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. She took great pride in her position and received three life-saving awards.
She was always a force to be reckoned with, and jumped into life without fear. She loved her family, and her loss will leave a big hole in our hearts. She still had a lot left to give to the world, and although we’ll always treasure the time we had with her, we’ll never forget what could have been.
Hold your loved ones closely: no one is promised tomorrow. “It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. Part of me went with you, wherever you may roam.”
Celebration of Amanda's Life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with words of remembrance from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at Vadnais Commons Ballroom (behind Jimmy's Food & Drink), 3565 Labore Road, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota
