Died unexpectedly August 9, 2008 at the Bay Front Blues Festival in Duluth, MN. He was proud to be a member of Local #132 and a 42 year dedicated employee of Adolfson and Peterson Construction Company. He was born November 11, 1944 in Callaway, MN to Ambrose & Lucy Zurn. Some of his special interests were riding his Harley Davidson, hunting with family, tending to his hobby chickens, giving the eggs to his friends and family, doing home repair, remodeling and casting cement lawn ornaments.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Vernie, Clarence Zurn. Survived by wife Sheila (Connelly / Downham)Zurn; children, Lisa (Greg) Kauls (her mother, former wife of Ambrose, Pam), Michael Downham, Melanie (Steve) Hermann, Sheila (Mark) Claeson; eight grandchildren and one anxiously awaited grandchild; siblings, Ray (Bert) Zurn, Shirley Newell (Pete) Jackson, Donna (Don) Adams, Mary (Carl) Schnathorst, Ruth (Clay) Atwell, Richard (Judy) Zurn, Betty (Lynn) Thompson, Linda(Gene)Walz, Gordon (Joann) Zurn; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other extended family, special friends and traveling partners, Royce (Heidi) Kantola.
A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday August 22, 2008 at their residence 21155 Fondant Ave. North, Forest Lake, MN. Family will greet friends from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at their home. The family has requested also for friends to wear their Harley apparel and please ride their motorcycles to the service in memory of Ambrose. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the family.
