Ann Anderson

February 5, 1934 — August 4, 2007

Ann Marie Anderson, 73, from Sun City, AZ, passed away peacefully at home with family at her bedside on August, 4th. Ann battled cancer with the same selflessness, resolve and quiet dignity that defined her life. To her family and countless friends whom she loved and adored, Ann was grounded, quick-witted, modest, vibrant, and fun-loving. Above all, Ann was authentic and accessible. She was a loyal, constant and steady presence to all of those whom she touched. She made everyone feel special.

Ann was always willing to raise her hands to help others. Even while battling her disease, she donated time to the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, the Boswell Hospital and to the Arizona Supreme Court on issues related to child protection. She loved playing the piano, line dancing, her red hat club, her bowling league, reading, and working cross word puzzles. She most especially loved her time with those closest to her.

While born in Wilmer, MN, Ann?s journey brought her to St. Paul, MN (she graduated from Central High School), White Bear Lake, MN, and Forest Lake, MN where she raised her two sons Mike and Dan Welch. Through the years Ann?s family and work took her to Montana, California and Arizona. With a bachelor?s degree in Education (Macalester College) and Masters of Social Work (Eastern Washington University), Ann?s life was dedicated to the service of others as a teacher, and as a social worker for the Child Protective Services for the State of Montana for 20 years. Ann also owned an antiques business in Kalispell, MT & Lindstrom, MN. In her spare time, she was a reporter for the Chisago County Press.

Ann was preceded in death by her Parents, Bill Trumbull & Dorthy Spindler Trumbull.

Ann is survived by her husband Ken Anderson (Sun City, AZ), and brothers Tom Trumbull (Bigfork, MT) & Mike Trumbull (Las Cruces, NM). Her eight sons include Dan Welch (Oak Grove, MN), Michael Welch (Forest Lake, MN), Scott Anderson (Minneapolis), Todd Anderson (Rosemount, MN), Jeff Anderson (Whitefish, MT), Greg Anderson (Lousiville, OH), Paul Anderson (Seattle, WA) and Terry Anderson (Olympia, WA). Granny Annie is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Alison Welch, Brian Welch, Shane Anderson, Kayla Bulera, Kellie Welch, Emma Anderson, Towner Anderson, Aspen Anderson, Megan Anderson, & Annika Anderson. Nieces and nephews include Anne Trumbull (Highlands Ranch, CO), Nancy Trumbull (Spokane, WA) and Monte Trumbull (Evansville, WY).

Ann was exceptional. She was loved deeply and will be profoundly missed. Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia, Minnesota.
