Anna Knudson

Anna Molvarec Knudson, formerly of Anoka, Minnesota and recently residing at Parmly LifePointes Health Care Facilities of Chisago City, Minnesota, where she passed away on September 12, 2013 at the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 7 days young. Anna was born January 5, 1924 to Paul and Mara (Kengjelic) Molvarec in Croatia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, a sister and a brother. Survived by special great nephew, Steve (Lynn) Ruter; two nieces, Vivian Ruter and Unae Kilgas; several great and great-great nephews, nieces and many friends. Anna moved to the United States in 1946 following her marriage to Arthur Knudson. They made their home in the Danube and Olivia, Minnesota areas until their move to Anoka where Arthur worked for MN Dot and Anna worked, first at Donaldsons and later at the Anoka State Hospital for 20 plus years until she retired. Arthur and Anna were married for 47 years prior to his death in 1993. Anna was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening, feeding birds- the Cardinal being her favorite and her two Pomeranian dogs, Chad and Tasha. Chad preceded her in death, Tasha lives with Steve and Lynn. In September of 2011 Anna moved from her home in Anoka to Parmly LifePointes Health Care Facilities in Chisago City where she was closer to her great nephew, Steve who helped with her care. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p. m., Sunday, September 22 at the Parmly LifePointes Chapel, 28210 Old Towne Rd. Chisago City, MN. A time of sharing will follow the memorial service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Parmly LifePointes Health Care Center.
