Anthony Burns

Burns, Anthony "Tony" M. Age 43, of Forest Lake, passed away suddenly in his home on January 8, 2015. He was born and raised in Duluth, graduating from Denfeld High School in 1990. Tony had a passion for his family and for hockey. He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, son, and brother. In his short life Tony had many great moments. Tony knew how blessed he was and took pleasure in the little things. He didn't sweat the small stuff. He was a gentle, patient and involved father. He made his family feel loved, supported and protected. His kind, friendly and often silly smile showed his playful core. Tony often humbly set the stage for others to shine. He was trustworthy, determined and self-reliant. Tony excelled at creatively solving problems and enjoyed making people laugh in surprising ways. Tony's greatest gift was his acute ability to make one feel valued by listening carefully and intuitively responding in the exact way that they needed. Tony lived out his faith by example. He walked the walk.Preceded in death by his father, Dennis. He is survived by his wife, Amanda; children, Joey and Rosie; mother, Roberta "Bobbie" Burns; sisters, Tracy Long, Dana Crouley; extended family; and many lifelong friends. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Eagle Brook Church, 2401 E. Buffalo St., White Bear Lake. Visitation 5-8 p.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Tony's children.
