Arlene Randklev

Arlene Randklev, age 80, of Grand Marais, formerly of White Bear Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 29, 2013. Arlene was a loving mother, a devoted wife to her husband Ronald, of 62 years, and an old fashioned stay at home mom. Arlene was an incredibly brilliant person of many hobbies, interests and talents. She was a master gardener of both flowers and organic vegetables who always enjoyed her time outdoors, especially on the property she and Ronald shared on Lake Superior, just outside of Grand Marais. Arlene would tend to more than one acre of flowers and was an official bird watcher for the state of Minnesota. Arlene was also very proud of her service at Mariner High School as media and visual arts specialist. She is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Richard Leepart) Randklev and Mary Murray; four grandchildren, Dax Leepart, Kelsey (Patrick) Valdez, Katherine (Mark) Feitz and Patrick Murray; one great grandchild, Gabriella Valdez and two brothers, Arvid Mathias (Clarella Benett) Dalby and Raymond Leroy (Polly Rose) Dalby. Arlene is preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Sigrid Dalby; one sister, Marie Olivia Tucker; one brother-in-law, John P. Tucker and one sister-in-law, Fern Jeanette Dalby. A memorial service in remembrance of Arlene will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Dunrovin Christian Brothers Retreat Center, 15525 St Croix Trail, Marine on St Croix, MN. There will be a gathering at the conclusion of the service. www.dunrovin.org./home/. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army Lakewood Adult Day Center in Maplewood.
