Chisago City

Barbara Lynn Berglund, 83, passed away peacefully, on January 29, 2025. Born to Herbert and Dorothy Brown on July 10, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, Barbara met the love of her life, Gene Berglund, while he was stationed in Spokane while serving in the Air Force. They married and began their adventure together.

After moving to Minnesota, Barbara worked as a server at the Big Ben in White Bear Lake, a job she truly loved. She had an unwavering determination to work and be independent, a spirit she carried throughout her life. Upon retiring, she and Gene settled in Chisago City, purchasing a home on Little Green Lake, where they enjoyed entertaining friends, neighbors, and family on their deck. Barb was quick to offer hospitality to all who visited and was a welcoming presence. Gene and Barb enjoyed boating on the lake together with friends and neighbors.

Barb enjoyed spending quiet moments doing crossword puzzles, a pastime that brought her much joy. She was known for her impeccable memory of dates, especially birthdays. Barbara and Gene also found joy in spending their winters in Texas, embracing the warm weather and making new memories with friends on the 19th hole.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Tracy Berglund and Jacquie Berglund. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Dorothy, and her husband of 64 years, Gene.

Barbara’s warmth, love, and uniquely caring spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
