Beatrice Carlson

Beatrice Elaine Mitchell Panchot Carlson, age 84, of Scandia, went to meet her Lord on August 21, 2012. She was born May 30, 1928 in Northome, Minnesota to Cecil and Winifred Mitchell, she was the third of five children. She met and married her first husband, Douglas Panchot, in Northome and their son, Jerry, was born on September 3, 1947, soon after her husband was killed in an accident. She moved down to the Scandia area where she met and then married her husband Lawrence T. Carlson on March 4, 1948. Their daughter, Karen, was born on December 18, 1951 and daughter, Joyce, was born on April 13, 1954. Her occupations were a switchboard operator for the telephone company, and a receptionist and switchboard operator for Montgomery Ward. Mainly, she spent most of her years as a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook, and baker. Her hobbies included learning to do stained glass projects, crocheting, knitting, and she was an avid reader. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Winifred Mitchell; her first husband, Douglas Panchot; second husband Lawrence Carlson; her sister Marilyn Rogers; her son-in-law, David Kazeck; and a grandson, Shawn Carlson. She is survived by her son, Jerry and wife Shirley Carlson; her daughter, Karen Kazeck; and her daughter, Joyce and husband David Nelson; her three brothers, Richard Mitchell, Walter & Jane Mitchell, and Fred Mitchell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Douglas Carlson, Nicole Kuhn, Jonathon Wright, Christopher Wright, Daniel Wright, Erick Kazeck, Melynda Kazeck and Rebekka Bahnemann and twelve great-grandchildren, Shawn & Miranda Carlson, Ivy & Holly Kuhn, Erica & Lillian Wright, Makenna & Meghan Wright, Allysun & Alexis Kazeck, and Tatum and Paityn Bahnemann. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery.
