Bernie Daninger

Bernie Daninger, age 76, of Forest Lake, died peacefully surrounded by family on August 16, 2014 after an 8-year battle with Alzheimer's. Bernie was born and raised in Forest Lake. He proudly served in the Army Reserve for 6 years. He had a 35-year career in law enforcement, 28 years with St. Paul Police Dept. and 7 years with Washington County Sheriff Dept. Bernie is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Anne (Kimmes) Daninger; brother, James; sisters, Dorothy (Don) Iverson, Theresa (Chet) Elko. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, including his wife of 40 years, Paula (nee Stephens); children, Danielle (Craig) Wyse, Amanda (Brad) Klein , Douglas; five grandchildren, Nolan, Faith, Cora, Adeline, and Brinley; siblings, Ray (Geri), Florence (Paul) Adamski , Diane (Gary) Zak. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00PM Thursday with a time of sharing at 7:00 PM and rosary service immediately following at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, visitation will continue from 9:00-10:00AM Friday at the funeral home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
