Betty Jean Faragher

Betty Jean Faragher, age 84, of Forest Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at a local hospital on October 21, 2023.

Betty was a person of many experiences.  As a child, her family moved over 20 times and enrolled her in 18 schools during her primary education.  Betty graduated from The University of Connecticut with Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education.  Her lifelong passion for learning began to influence students thereafter.  She continued to teach elementary school for over 40 years in Westport, Connecticut while also caring for her ailing mother. 

Betty moved to Forest Lake, Minnesota in the late 1990’s after retiring from education but continued to share her passion for learning through volunteer work at the Forest Lake Area Schools Adult Basic Education Center.

Betty was passionate about her pets including multiple dogs over the years and her cat, Willie.

She is preceded in death by parents, Earl and Sarah Faragher; brother, Jack Faragher Sr.  She is survived by nephews, Jack Faragher Jr of Colleyville, Texas; Jason Faragher of Rocky River, Ohio and many dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to mass at the church.
