Betty Lou Hills, age 87, of Columbus, Minnesota died peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Betty was born December 23, 1934 to William and Lena Mack. She was born, raised and graduated from high school in Spooner, Wisconsin. On February 7, 1959, she married the love of her life, Harold J. Hills. Harold and Betty raised their family in Maplewood, Minnesota. They later moved to Columbus, where Betty and Harold started The Hills Deer Farm. They had many exotic animals, but Betty’s love for her dogs was very special. Betty’s last dog was named Daisy and she meant the world to her. Betty was one of a kind, with her perfect hair and polished nails. She collected all different kinds of dolls and knick-knacks, and had a fondness for flowers. Betty enjoyed going on adventures, from trips to the casino, to trips on the motorcycle, or anywhere she could be spending time with her loved ones.
Betty will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold; children, Deborah (Harvey) Davis, Vickie Renstrom, Russell (Mary) Hills; grandchildren Jeremy (Beth) Renstrom Daniel Renstrom, Jennifer Johnson, Katie Renstrom, Teri Kroll, Ryan Hills, Travis Hills; 9 great grandchildren; other family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Ann; her parents, William and Lena (nee Taylor) Mack; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Mae Wallack and Polly Mack.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Maplewood, Minnesota.
