Carol Nutter

Carol Edna Nutter, age 91, of Forest Lake (formerly of Lino Lakes), died peacefully on November 23, 2021. Carol is preceded by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Arnold Nutter; her son, Gregory Nutter;  her siblings, and her parents.  She will be dearly missed by her children, Wendy (Fred) Young,  Lori (Roger) Brandel, Todd Nutter; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Carol was a lovely example of her generation: a skilled homemaker , baker, cook and housekeeper as well as a loving wife and magnificent mother. As much of a woman of her times as she was, Carol was also quite ahead of her times as well—balancing modernism and nostalgia all at once. She was a staunch supporter of her husband (a great carpenter!) and was always ready to work  alongside Arnie whether it was helping him in the garage or being a real trooper when it came to helping with the newly shot buck or pan frying his fresh catch.

Her children continued in amazement as late as a week ago astounded at Carol’s financial finesse.   She was a whiz at numbers and maintained a healthy household budget while she and Arnie reared their four children.  Arnie always laughed at how she could make her “painting money” stretch.  Arnie died 11 years ago, and we are sure there is still “painting money” left!

She and Arnie enjoyed taking trips with their motor home to sunnier weather escaping Minnesota winters. They also cherished the time they spent at their Sandstone lake cabin.   Since Arnie’s passing, she continued the tradition of going to Perkins--she loved going out for coffee and pie: and seeing her favorite Perkins servers and friends!

Her family will miss her dearly and are thankful for a beautiful and long life with Carol.

Viewing will be held on December 2, 2021 at Mattson Funeral Home from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 AM also at Mattson Funeral Home.  Lunch will served at the American Legion in Forest Lake.  Following lunch, interment will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, in Lino Lakes. Due to health concerns the family is requesting all guests in attendance wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
