Carroll Fredrick Buzzell Sr. was born on September 25th, 1941, to Charles and Delores Buzzell. He grew up in the Spring Lake Park/Blaine area in Minnesota and attended St. Tim’s Catholic Church with his family. He was part of a large family having 3 sisters and 8 brothers. After graduating from Spring Lake High school where he was a multi-sport athlete, Carroll joined the US Marine Corps.

When he came home from the Marines, he married the love of his life Priscilla Coffman. They celebrated 63 years of marriage this year. Their early married days were in Blaine where they welcomed 3 sons into their family. After moving to St Francis, Minnesota where they made their long-term home, they added one more son. They were known for their love of entertaining and had many gatherings. After retirement, they would move full time to Walker and then to Tennessee but moved back to Minnesota to be closer to their family a couple years ago.

Carroll was a concrete worker and mason and started his own company Buzzell Masonry. Carroll had reputation as a hard worker and perfectionist and expected the same from his employees. His company was a family affair, he had some of his brothers working with him, his sons and grandsons. Carroll’s three sons are now carrying on his legacy.

Carroll was a generous man and always tried to help others. He had a tough exterior but, on the inside, he was a man of deep feelings and love for his family and friends. Carroll enjoyed time with his kids and grandkids and was very proud of them.

Carroll was an avid outdoors man he was President of a local Ducks Unlimited chapter. He enjoyed fishing and hunting at his lake home in Walker where the whole family enjoyed many happy years. He went to Canada many times fishing with family and friends. He also loved going out west hunting for big game. He competed in Field Trials with his beloved labradors retrievers and even went to Nationals a few times. He shot trap with friends and was on curling team.

Carroll was a man of faith and drew strength from that in later years. This spring when he was diagnosed with ALS, he leaned on God to help him. He passed away on August 23rd with his wife and family by his side. He was 82 years, 10 months and 29 days old.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delores; sister, Bernice; brother, Carter; sisters-in-law, Betty and Adrianne; nephews, Glenn, Caleb; and his eldest son, Carroll Buzzell, Jr.

Carroll is survived by loving wife, Priscilla; sons, Brad (Kayla), Brandon, Trevor (Jenny); grandchildren, Somer, Colt (Ashley), Levi, Jarrett (Kasi), Logan, Andy (Rabecka), Mykia, Maddi, Kaden and Teagan; great grandchildren, Georgia, Aubrey, Zen, Grayson, Easton and Weston; siblings; Charles, Clayton, Sr., Carvin (Debbie), Clark (Diane), Courtney (Kathy), Corlyn (Bill), Chardell (Steve), Crandall (Rhonda), Corrine (Ken) and Collin (Kirstin); many nieces and nephews, and friends.
