Cheryl Anne Endres was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 4th, 1957. She died at home with family in Columbus, Minnesota on October 18th, 2020.
Cheryl earned her Bachelors of Science from Purdue University, where she met her husband, Ralph Endres. After moving to Minnesota in 1984, their heavy involvement in church and missions led them to serve at an outreach mission near Franklin Avenue in South Minneapolis. Together, they established a landscape business in 1998, with the intention to hire from, work in, and beautify the neighborhoods around the mission. After a decades long career in food engineering and research, she joined their landscape business full time in 2006.
All her life, Cheryl loved kids and served in the nursery at every church she attended. Cheryl served in the nursery at Eaglebrook Church for nearly three decades.
When an employee needed help, she opened her house to the whole family. Over the years, she helped them raise their children to adulthood. When their younger cousins needed a grandmother, their mother asked Cheryl if she would take on that role. Without hesitation, she brought them into the family. She taught all her kids how to enjoy good homecooked food (such as chicken fried rice!), how to bike, how to ski, and how to love.
She always gave generously, loved selflessly, and forgave quickly.
Cheryl is survived by Ralph David, her husband of 42 years, two children, Keith David (and wife Jennifer Lynn) of St. Paul, and Katherine Anne of Anchorage, two grandchildren, Elaine Lynn and Rylan Anne, her father Robert and four siblings, Margery, Mike, Doug and Joy. And countless kids and grandkids of her heart, including: RJ, Calvin, Gloria, Angel, Mona, BJ, Ethan, Kristi Jo, FourBear, Jenny, Julius, Wambli, Michele, Ta’Riah, Vanessa, Victoria and Arsinoe.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her favorite ministry at Jericho Road, or to your favorite charity.
