Clarence J. Zeleschnak, age 97, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Clarence proudly served his country during WWII. He was the first draftee from St. Paul, Minnesota. Following his honorable discharge he began his career with Hurley Construction. He was blessed with 42 years of retirement which he spent doing extensive hunting, fishing and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma (Kratochvil) Zeleschnak Wilt; wife, Bernice; sister, Irene Haselbauer; brother, Thomas Wilt; son-in-law, Roald Steen . He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him including his devoted children , Dianne (Roger) Biever, Sandra Steen, Patrick (Rosalie) Zeleschnak, Joyce Zeleschnak, Mary Jo Zeleschnak; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Welter, Geri Wilt; many nieces, nephews; family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at The Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
