Cody Ostendorf

January 13, 1991 — October 3, 2015

Cody Joseph Ostendorf was 24 years old. He was born to loving parents, Roland and Denise on January 13, 1991. Big brother Jesse (now 27), welcomed him with loving arms. The family was complete with younger sister Katlin (now 21), and the brother Jacob (now 19). Cody, with his co-workers Justin Haugtvedt and Keith Ayers, were missed at work on October 3, 2015. Their boat capsized after leaving Sunset Lodge on Oak Island in Lake of the Woods. They were boating to Flag Island where they slept. They were building on Brush Island. Cody attended grade school at Chicago Lakes Baptist School and then homeschooled with HERO, a resources organization. Then a Biblical Archeology School with the Congregation of Yahweh, in Israel, to complete his formal education. Cody loved the out of doors and being independent. He was a great organizer. His true gift was in administration. All he needed was a "a rope and a stick". He could hunt or fish or be cowboy with it. He loved working with his dad on building projects around the house in Linwood, MN. He got his first set of power tools when he was 4. Cody's first job was with Jimmy John's sub shop in Forest Lake. Then he moved on to work with Inter State Removal working with concrete in the summer and snow removal in the winter. He met Randy Holmberg and started to work for him framing homes in Blaine. Two years later they went up to Baudette to build deluxe cabins for Sportsman's Lodge. Construction and fishing in the summer and Ice Guiding in the winter. He always said " I just love it up here!" In 2004 Cody was baptized in the lake in White Bear into the Family of Yahweh. Along with his family he believed in the 7th day Sabbath and Yahweh's Feasts of Leviticus 23. He has accepted Yahshua's blood that was shed on the torture stake in Jerusalem that paid the penalty of our sin against Yahweh's law. Yahshua is our salvation and that is what His name means. But we must all personally apply His Blood to our life for the forgiveness of our sins. Cody will be deeply missed by his family, extended family and many, many friends!
