Dale S. Anderson

Dale Sidney Anderson peacefully passed away on March 17, 2023 at his home in North Branch at the age of 73. Dale courageously battled cancer over many years, beating the odds along his journey.

Dale was born February 25, 1950 to Sidney and Shirley (Sausen) Anderson in St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in Stacy, Minnesota as the oldest of six siblings. Dale played football, ran track, and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1968. Dale served in the United States Navy from 1968-1972 at the Naval Amphibious base in Coronado, California. Returning home, he studied heavy equipment operation at Vo Tech in Staples, Minnesota. He worked for a number of years at the Rabel mink farm and in 1983 began working at Peterson’s Mill in North Branch. Dale was a dedicated worker and continued to work past his unofficial retirement, always saving scraps to take to the cats.

Dale resided in Stacy while raising his boys, and later moved to North Branch. Dale married Vicki on February 1, 1997, at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch, after surviving his first rounds of treatment. Throughout his battle with cancer Dale remained humble and cheery to family and friends, always ready for the next course thrown at him. Dale would often mention that Vicki was his rock and without her he would not have made it through his treatments. We are so thankful of the great care, love, and support Vicki gave.

Dale enjoyed the great outdoors, either fishing or camping, and his beloved MN sports teams. He enjoyed traveling, particularly to Duluth and the North Shore to watch the different ships passing through. Dale was a great listener and storyteller amongst family and friends and spent as much time with loved ones as possible. He was a treasure, a miracle, and made everyone he met richer for knowing him.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Shirley Anderson; brother, Rick Anderson and sister, Linda Spencer.  He is survived by his wife, Vicki Anderson; former wife, Cindy Monson, children, Robert (Laura) Anderson, Billy (Karri) Anderson, Krista (John) Myers and Kari (Jeremy) Nelson; grandchildren, Jack Myers, Lincoln Anderson, Abby Myers, Abram Anderson, Lyla Nelson, Aria Nelson, Reagan Anderson; siblings, Rodger (Tenny) Anderson, Gordy (Tammy) Anderson, Jerry (Kitten) Anderson; brother-in-law, Art Spencer and sister-in-law, Vickie Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31075 Genesis Ave. N, Stacy, MN. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the church.  A dinner will immediately follow the service.
