Daniel Bever

Daniel A. Bever, age 81, of Marine on St. Croix, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 28, 2013. Dan graduated from Forest Lake HS, the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul and received advanced degrees from the University of Minnesota and Mankato State University, with majors in social science, education, and high school administration. Daniel taught and coached at Medford Minnesota Public Schools; he was all school principal at Morton, Minnesota Public Schools, and concluded his teaching career in St. Paul at Wilson and Harding High Schools. Dan was resolute in his spiritual faith, an avid outdoorsman, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Survived by wife of 57 years, Shirley Whalen Bever; sons: John (Sharon); Tom (Cherre), grandchildren: Jamie and Jake; sister, Mary Rogers; six nephews, two nieces, in-laws and countless friends. Preceded in death by his brothers: James and Alfred. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Genevieve Parish Community Center, 6995 Centerville Road, Centerville, MN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the community center. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands, Mpls, Catholic Charities or donor's choice. Interment will take place in the spring.
