Darlene Gardner

Darlene "Dolly" Violet Gardner (nee Swanson) died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 7, 2014 at home surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Dolly graduated from Forest Lake High School, spent over 20 years working for Control Data Corporation and recently retired from Allina after working in Computer Operations for 25 years. Dolly loved her family, her gardens, her birds AND CHRISTMAS! She is preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Violet Swanson. She is survived by her children, Kim Stephan (Dave Colby), Kevin Gardner (Laurie Monson); grandchildren Justin Gardner, Kyle Gardner (Cezanne) and Nick Stephan; great-grandson, Leo Gardner; her long time love, Joe Osterbauer; brothers, Rick (Bonnie) Swanson, Darrell (Diane) Swanson and her sister, Danna Feldman; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
