David Hawkinson

David E. Hawkinson, "Dave the Barber", age 78, of North Branch, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Dave was the owner/operator of the Silver Shear in New Brighton, which he established in 1976. He was an avid sprint car racing fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Irene; wife, Rachel; sister, Ardie Lidholm. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Tammy (Dan) Nelson, Nancy (Doug) Poppens; grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, Alyssa, Nathan; his sweetie, Kathy Albers; nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m., until the time of service. Private interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, North Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to charity of choice.
