Deanna McGill

Richard and Deanna McGill, age 71, of Stacy, Minnesota, formerly of Roseville, Minnesota, went to be with the Lord after a tragic auto accident on June 5, 2013. Richard was born in Albert Lea, MN on April 14, 1942 to Albert Harley and Jennie May (Woolard) McGill. Deanna was born in Mankato, Minnesota to Frederick and Roberta (Warnke) Schultz. They were preceded in death by Richard's sister, Joyce McGill and brother, Garry. Survived by children, Dan (Deb) of Elko, MN and their children Elisabeth and David; and Jim (Jen) of Stacy, MN and their children; Austin Ross, Jordan McGill, Nathan Ross, Brandon McGill, Levi Ross, Joseph McGill; Deanna's brother, David (Carol) Schultz; Richard's siblings, Chet (Faith); Dale (Sue); Karen (Mike) Segar and many nieces and nephews. Richard and Deanna were married in 1961 in Beauford, MN and lived for many years in Austin, Roseville and Stacy, MN. Richard worked as a controller/accountant at several firms and immensely enjoyed reading western novels. Deanna loved and cared for animals. From ducks to cats, Deanna was actively involved in helping stray animals in her neighborhood. Richard's servant heart was evident. He often assisted any one he knew who was in need. He was known for his gentle spirit and caring nature. Richard and Deanna's funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Chisago Lakes Baptist Church, 9387 Wyoming Trail, Chisago City, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be directed to the family.
