Donald H. Rogahn, 73, passed away peacefully January 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born in 1951 to Harold and Lorraine Rogahn while living and farming in Tintah, MN. He left for school in the Twin Cities where he attended Concordia Academy through college.
After school Don worked hard building capital to start his own company. He became a successful entrepreneur at a young age and always believed that business was done with a handshake and a smile. He valued both his customers and employees as friends and forged many lasting relationships across the country.
Don married Kathy in March of 1981 while they lived in Little Canada, MN. He embraced Kathy’s children, Scott and Tina, as his own and enjoyed spending time as a family. They made great memories together on many camping, fishing and cross-country sightseeing vacations. Don and Kathy also enjoyed time away together visiting Mexico every year for well-deserved breaks from work and the Minnesota winters.
Leaving the business he loved behind, Don retired in 2019 and enjoyed his extra time at the lake home he loved in Chisago City, MN. On warm summer nights there was no place he’d rather be than barbecuing and cruising the lake for sunset on the pontoon boat. The yacht rock playlists were always sing-along favorites on the nightly cruises.
He was an adventurer who loved a challenge in all things and always lived his life at his speed, on his terms. Don will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorraine Rogahn and his nephew Nathan Rogahn. He is survived by his wife Kathy Rogahn; his children Tina Mlynarczyk and Scott Mlynarczyk (Sue Sommers); sister Jeanne Janssen (Billy); brothers Ken Rogahn (Marcy) and Doug Rogahn (JoAnn); many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Services will be held at Mattson Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to The Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at give.mayoclinic.org.
