Donald Salmela

Donald "Don" Salmela, age 89, of Forest Lake, Minnesota died, November 6, 2014. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a lifetime artist and illustrator. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Jim. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary; children, Alan (Kim), Mark (Kris), Vincent (Nancy), Doug (Karen), Kelly (John) Muldoon; Pamela (Mark) Phillippi; Don Jr. (Lisa); 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Maitland (Toni), Genevieve Tomscak, Montie (Betty); many nieces, nephews; other extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Wyoming United Methodist Church 5459 East Viking Blvd. Wyoming. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans Department of Minnesota.
