Dori Ann Case, age 64, of Woodbury, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, while on her morning walk.
Born on April 10, 1960, in Chisago City, Minnesota, Dori was the daughter of William and Bonnie (Nygren) Osterbauer. Dori attended grade school at St. Peter’s Catholic School, Forest Lake. She was a proud graduate of Forest Lake High School, Class of 1978, and went on to attend the College of Saint Benedict, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Her professional journey began at West Publishing before she found her home at Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she worked as an underwriter for over 30 years.
On October 21, 1994, Dori married the love of her life, Shawn Case. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared adventures in Woodbury. Dori was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and she held a special bond with all her family.
Dori was known for her unwavering kindness, outgoing personality, and sense of humor. She was the type of person who always put others first, offering help, encouragement, and laughter wherever she went. Though she had a touch of stubbornness, it only added to her charm and determination.
Her daily walks were a cherished part of her routine, as was her love of finding great deals online. She had a passion for knitting and needlepoint, often making thoughtful gifts for those she loved. She loved reading, especially when she could curl up with a good mystery. Dori was also an avid traveler, and one of her greatest joys was visiting Disney World with her family. These trips, which she took several times a year, were some of the highlights of her life, and she often spoke of them with the utmost joy.
Dori’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her husband, Shawn; children, Connor and Zoe; siblings, Lance Osterbauer, Loren (Brenda) Osterbauer, Dawna (Bruce) Schultz; the Case Family, Mary Case, Nora (Ed) Herzberg, Kerry (Mike) Monahan, Colin (Joy) Case, Kelly (John) Bowling, Shannon (Anne) Case; many nieces, nephews other family and friends.
