Dorothy A. Boyer

Dorothy Arlene Boyer, age 78, passed away on July 4, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN., after beginning a second struggle with cancer which was detected in October. She was born in Northeast Minneapolis at home, on August 9, 1945. A graduate of Forest Lake High School and attended Oliver Theine School of cosmetology and worked in the industry for over 50 years. She lived her adult life in Saint Paul and Forest Lake. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Helen (Jepsen) Boyer. She was a caring and loving sister to her seven siblings, Duane, Darril Ann, Danial, Diane, Dean, Denise Boyer and Dale (Boyer) Johnson; an aunt to eleven nieces and nephews and great aunt to seventeen, and loved by many cousins, friends and neighbors.

She enjoyed daily crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. An avid sports fan, and it did not matter the sport, loved big band music and old movies. But reading was her passion. Was stubborn, shy, opinionated, loyal, bit of a smart aleck, feisty and adventurous. Through it all she was much more, but greatest gift was her love for her family unconditionally.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake, MN.
