Dorothy Krinke

Dorothy E. Krinke (nee Hawkinson), age 76 of Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, died peacefully on New Year's Day after a tragic but valiant battle against Alzheimer's disease. Dorothy was born in Harris, Minnesota on December 29, 1939 to Clifford and Edna (Williams) Hawkinson. She lived in Jordan, Montana in her younger years, attending Garfield County School and then returned to Minnesota where she attended and graduated from North Branch High School in 1957. This is where she met her husband, Harlan to whom she married for 56 years. Dorothy lived a full and adventuresome life, traveling the world and serving others. She was a devoted volunteer with the American Red Cross providing disaster relief and other services, with her church, and with many other organizations. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Chester Spracklin.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Mark) McGinley and Tara (Chris) Thompson; two sons, Wade (MaryLou) Krinke and Chad (Mara) Krinke; nine grandchildren; siblings, Caroline Ashcraft, Art (Nancy) Hawkinson, Frances (Henry) Greaux; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, 150 5th Street, Marine on St. Croix. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:30 p.m., Wednesday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service at church. Private interment at Oakland Cemetery, Marine on St. Croix.
