Douglas Horton

Douglas "G8R" Horton, age 46

of North Branch, left for the big ride in the sky on June 3, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ellen Just and beloved dog, Patches.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; daughter, Heather Heard; grandsons, DylanPatrick and Quinton; brother-in-law, Richard (Susanne) Just; his pug, Ebony; and many friends.

After graduating from Ft. Myers in 1979, G8R joined the US Air Force, medically retiring as T Sergeant E5 in 1986. During his service, he was stationed in Guam at Anderson Air Force Base.

He loved his motorcycle, his pug, and his family. A member of A.B.A.T.E., he helped found River Riders and was Master Sergeant at Arms of Metro Chapter.

Benefit Memorial Ride will begin at 10:00 AM, Sat., July 21 at Stacy City Park (2 blocks East of I-35 on Stacy Trail), ending with a pig roast at Shafer's Saloon, 30220 Redwing Ave., Shafer. Stops are at: Full Moon in Stark, MN; Little Mexico in Siren, WI; Wolf Creek Bar in Wolf Creek, WI; Osceola Park to share thoughts & memories.
