Dustin Berg

Dustin Berg (Tschetter), age 22, of Forest Lake, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2013. Dustin was born on August 7, 1990 and lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area until he moved to Forest Lake in 1994. He began his educational journey at Forest Lake Elementary and was a proud graduate of the Forest Lake High School Class of 2009. Dustin was a talented athlete and focused on baseball and basketball. Later, his interests turned to snowboarding, dirt biking, and jet skiing. Dustin's passion for the outdoors was by far his strongest interest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He loved music of all sorts, his beloved canine friends (Ginger, Annie, Dexter, Chuck, and Zues), hanging out with his buddies, and most of all, his younger brother Jacob. Jacob was his dearest treasure, and he will continue to watch over him forever. Dustin's was very proud to begin his first "real" job at the Blacksmith's Lounge in Hugo, MN. The staff was instrumental in leading him into the working world. He then pursued a career at Paladin Academy where he was employed as a Paraeducator for the past two years. He was a valued colleague and member of the school "family". Dustin was an integral part of his students' lives. His connection to students was one of commitment, understanding, and a "learn with me" attitude. The students and staff will cherish him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Ethel Haverkamp, and Donnie Tschetter. He is survived by his parents, Jody Tschetter (Haverkamp) and Jeff Tschetter, Kenneth Berg; brother, Jacob Tschetter, grandparents, Karen and Roger Berg, Barbara (Tschetter) Timperley; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Mattson Funeral Home. Following the Service, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the American Legion Hall in Forest Lake. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, continuing one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dustin's smile, laughter, humor, kindheartedness, and adventurous and free spirited attitude will be remembered always. We thank him for bringing happiness and joy to all of us. He lives in our hearts and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We love you!
