Earl Munkelwitz, Sr

Earl Henry Munkelwitz, Sr., age 85, of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017. Earl proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War. A life member of the VFW, he remained both active and supportive of veterans through his volunteer work and as Service Officer with VFW Post 4210. For many years, Earl had been the owner of the Wiggle Inn Bar. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Fran; daughter, Betty Jo; grandson, Greg Sawyer; sister, Sandy; brothers, Lloyd and Lee. He is survived by his children, Don (Kathy) Sawyer, DeAnne Kunsher, David (Sally) Sawyer, Will (Nancy) Sawyer, Arlene (Neil) Greggs, Earl (Debra) Munkelwitz, Jr., David Stermberg, Guy (Pam Normandin) Munkelwitz, Carol (Juan) Hernandez, Glen Munkelwitz; brother, Stan (Caroline); sister-in-law, Lucille; special granddaughter, Jenny Munkelwitz; many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.
