Edith Kauls

Edith "Oma" Kauls Affectionately called "Oma" by her friends and family, died on January 1, 2012. She was born in Riga, Latvia on April 5, 1913. She married Hermann "Opa" Kauls in Riga on October 31, 1939. After living in Germany for 9 years, they emigrated to the US in 1952, with their 4 children. They first settled in Wyoming, MN before moving to Forest Lake. She is survived by her children, Guido (Ann), Herm (Jan), Liliane (Jack) Schutz, Peter (Olivia); sister Irmgaard Kuhn; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Oma was well known for her hospitality and love of family. Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to service. Private family interment at Crystal Lake Cemetery.
