Edward N. Brummer, age 96
of Forest Lake, formerly of Zimmerman.
Edward was born July 19, 1911 in Pierz, MN. His family moved to a farm near Pierz, where Ed lived until he married Louise Schmidtbauer on October. 3, 1933.
Ed and Louise farmed until they moved to Brainerd in 1957, where he was employed at Brainerd Foundry and Longyear. In 1962 they moved to Cedar Grove where Ed worked at Hitchcock Industries until his retirement in 1976.
They moved into their new home near Zimmerman and lived there through Louise's death in 1985, until Ed moved to the senior citizen's apartment in 2003. He spent his final years at Birchwood Nursing Home in Forest Lake. Ed enjoyed golfing, card playing, making firewood, trapping gophers, riding snowmobile, motor biking, and hunting.
Survived by children, Jim (Mary), Tom (Shirley), Bob (Karen), Jerry (Sandy),
Donna (Ray) Hoppe, Gilbert; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; half-sisters, Agnes Primus and Katherine Austin.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM, Sat., November. 24, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 9-10 AM, Sat. at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Interment in St. Pius X Cemetery, Zimmerman.
