Edward Sulesky

Edward "Ed" Sulesky, age 44, of Hugo, passed away peacefully at home in the loving arms of his wife on Friday, April 7, 2017. Ed was born December 4, 1972 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Edward and Lylene (Seltz) Sulesky. He graduated from Lakeview High School, Class of 1991. He met the love of his life, Dawne Rector while she was visiting a mutual friend in Michigan and they began a long distance romance and have been together ever since. They were united in marriage on May 5, 2001 in New Brighton, Minnesota. Ed worked as an engineering technician with Donaldson Company for over ten years. Ed was one of kind! His sense of humor was classic and unforgettable. Even during his battle with cancer, he was able to share that humor with everyone around him. He was a true Smart A#$ and was loved for it, in every sense of the word. Ed was an avid Star Wars and Star Trek fan, he loved animals, bowling and astronomy. He developed some very close friendships with several special people who shared the same passions. Even though they never met in person, they provided a great friendship and were extremely supportive. Some of his greatest memories included he and Dawne's combined love for the band Chicago. Together with their "groupie friends", Wendi and Beth, they traveled to see them perform numerous times and always looked forward to the next performance. In 2002, Ed was diagnosed with cancer. He never let that diagnosis define him or stop him. He fought it tooth and nail and he truly appreciated all who supported him and Dawne during that time. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susan Ebersole and was met with a tail wag and smile across the Rainbow Bridge by his beloved, Remy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawne; four-legged "Dog-ter", Lexi; sister, Ellen Mazzara; brother, Bret Williams; mother-in-law, Peggy Rector; sister-in-law, Melissa (Cameron) Green; other family and friends. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 with a gathering from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Memorials are preferred to the family.
