Elaine Jemelka

May 1, 1918 — February 25, 2017

Elaine Jemelka (nee Rydeen), age 98, of Marine on St. Croix, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Elaine was united in marriage on January 27, 1944 to Frank Jemelka at Elim Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member and dedicated Sunday School teacher. She was extremely proud and very involved in her children's lives and those of her grandchildren. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillian (Johnson) Rydeen; husband, Frank; infant son; daughter-in-law, Kathy; brother, Gordon Rydeen; sisters, Irene Carlson and Lois Mallum. She is survived by her children, Brian (Bonnie), Bradley, Barb (Mike) Enslin, Beth Karwoski (Dow Fredrickson); Brent; 10 grandchildren, Jody, Andrea, Jason, Derek, Blake, Cole, Reed, Brooke, Paige, and Brittany; 2 great grandchildren, Olivia and Dillan; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family along with her beloved and faithful four legged companion, Sam. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery.
