Eleanore MacKenzie

Eleanore D. MacKenzie, age 85, of Forest Lake, formerly of Grand Marais,died, peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; daughter Maureen MacKenzie; grandson Dutch Gillmaster. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her including her children, Richard (Ann), Michael (Pat), Gerald (Susan), Daniel (Karen), Timothy (Cathy), Deborah Gillmaster; 21 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Krueger, Ardis Johnson, Roger (Ann) Nelson; many other family and friends. Eleanore will be remembered for her loving, caring and talented spirit. She was a beloved artist, storyteller, teacher and friend. Above all she was devoted to and loved time spent with her children and their families.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at Birchwood Health Care Center Chapel, 604 NE First Street, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service in the chapel. She will be interred alongside her beloved husband in Grand Marais, later this summer.
