Ella Martin

Ella M. Martin Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, age 86, Longtime Forest Lake resident. Ella was hospitalized unexpectedly, but passed peacefully with family at her side on October 1, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar & Mabel Mitchell; brother, Robert. She is survived by James, her husband of 61 years; children, Craig (Julie), Todd (Robin), Carol (Dan) Keene; seven grandchildren; siblings, Russell (Bernice) Mitchell, Annie (Lloyd) Lagoon, Dick Mitchell; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Ella was a teacher in the surrounding area for over 50 years. She was devoted to her church and helping others. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards, traveling, and visiting casinos. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 4-8 p.m., Thursday and 9-10 a.m., Friday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
