Elsie Smith

Elsie Marie (Wenzel) Smith, was born January 6, 1927, on Wenzel Farms in Lino Lakes and went home to the Lord on January 17, 2018 at the age of 91.  Preceded in death by her husband Robert; infant daughter, Cindy; step-son Bobby, grandson,  Brian;  great-grandson,  Joe; sister, Esther Noren; brother, Ellsworth Wenzel.   Survived by her children, Donald Smith, Genevieve (Marty) Schlager, Dean (Lynn) Smith, Linda Myer, Darwin (Cindy) Smith, and Melanie (Frank) Miller; twelve grandchildren:  Chad Smith, Shannon (Jamie) Fort, Branden (Sarah) Myer; Sean (Rustlee) Myer; Darwin Smith Jr., Dominic (Ashley) Smith, Katie (Vince) Shaw,  Kalcie Smith, Allen Miller, Nolan Miller,  Ruby Miller and Julie (Michael) Munos; sixteen great grandchildren:  Magnolia Smith, Layla Smith, Rainalynn Fort, Lane Fort, Layton Fort, Easton Fort, Weston Fort, Reid Fort, Colby Fort , Grace Luchsinger,  Jordan Luchsinger , Isabelle Shaw, Bethany Munos, Lydia Munos, Michael Munos,  Jesse Munos; 1 great-great granddaughter, Grace Munos;  several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

We are forever grateful for the loving care and attention that our brother Don provided for our mother throughout the years.  We will miss our dear mother but know that she is reunited with loved ones and rejoicing in laughter and love.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 N. Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota and continue one hour prior to service at the church.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 7330 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes, MN.  Internment at Rice Lake Cemetery, Lino Lakes.

Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the family.
