Ethel Maher

Ethel Maion Maher, age 92 of Forest Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2010. Ethel was born March 26, 1917 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin the daughter of Niels and Marie (Frederickson) Nielsen. She was united in marriage to Merle Maher and they made their home in Forest Lake beginning in 1958. Ethel worked for many years as a clerk in the banking industry. Ethel was a devoted member of Forest Lake Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and reading; one of her favorite authors was Louis L’Amour. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Alice Grams. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her including her loving daughter Julie (Byron) Black; grandchildren, Steven (Dorothy) Black, Elizabeth (Martin Reese) Sharron; great grandson Andrew Heidenreich; family and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Forest Lake Christian Church, 367 4 ^th Avenue NW, Forest Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to International Disaster Emergency Services; PO Box 60, Kempton, Illinois 46049 in care of Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota 55025.
