Fern Klein

Fern E. Klein, age 82, of Barnesville, Minnesota, died peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Fern was born October 18, 1928 in Barnesville, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonard and Olive (Renish) Burgeson. She was united in marriage to Daniel Klein in 1946. Fern was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxillary, TOPS and St. James Church of Christ, Barnesville. In her free time, Fern enjoyed, camping, bingo, Yahtzee, watching her game shows, eating popcorn, but mostly importantly, Fern loved being with her family. Fern will be dearly missed by her children, Keith (Sharon) Klein, Sandy (Ron) Mertes, Larry (Karen) Klein, Tammy (Greg) Nelson; grandchildren, Christine (Keith) Poetsch, Daniel Todd Klein, Katie Klein, David Klein, Daniel Jacob "DJ" Mertes, Christopher (Gina) Klein, Melanie (Edward Jr.) Lacy, Sara Mayer, Jason (Katie) Nelson, Kaley Nelson, Melissa Nelson; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Virginia Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Jeanette Wiltz, Ruth Johnson; granddaughter, Jennifer Robin. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 Highway 96 West, Arden Hills, Minnesota. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Family interment at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton, North Dakota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
