Floyd Simonson

Floyd L. Simonson, age 75 of Scandia, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Floyd worked 32 years with Washington County Highway Department and volunteered 41 years with the Scandia Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Mary Lou; children, Randall and Laurie (Chris) Holton; grandchildren, Jacob and Becca Simonson; several step grand and great grandchildren; sister Arbutus Shalander; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2009 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Elim Lutheran Church or the Scandia Fire Department.
