Gary R. Frick, age 73, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on January 5, 2019.
Gary served proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was part of the Big Red One and was a decorated combat veteran. Gary was awarded many medals including a bronze star, CIB and multiple Purple Hearts. After his service in the Army, he became a very talented artist/graphic designer and loved working for the metropolitan council where he retired after 30+ years. When Gary retired he and wife, Jan, moved to Burlington, Iowa where they made tons of friends. There he enjoyed driving his Jeep and cat fishing on the Mississippi River. After moving back to Minnesota, he loved watching football with his grandkids and enjoyed time with family at his home.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and May Frick. Survived by wife, Jan; children, Andrew (Kelly), Tom (Nikki), Jon, Sarah (Joe); grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Haylee, Austin, Maximus, Abram., Izaiah, Brysen, Mason, Tommy, Joshua, Makenna; sister, Sandy (Charlie); brothers, Bryan, Randy; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis. Please meet in Assembly Area #5.
