Gary Gilbertson

Gary R. Gilbertson, age 54, lifelong Scandia resident, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a heart attack on March 29, 2008.
Gary was proud owner of Gilbertson Farms and will be dearly missed by metro farmer market vendors and customers. His love of life and sense of humor touched hundreds of others through his volunteering as a ski instructor for Courage Center and Wild Mountain, volunteering with marching band, wrestling, ski team, and coaching football. Gary's spare time was spent playing cards with friends and family. He was a 30 year member of Teamster's Local 120.
Preceded in death by uncle Mervin Holwell; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Annette; children, Mark R. (Jessica, and her sons, Hunter & Trevor), Melisa, Carol (fiancAC., Nick Klimek); Aunt, Agnes Holwell; siblings, Alana Blomberg, Jeanne Koenes, Mari Campbell, Gerald Gilbertson, and their families; many other family and friends.
Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation 4-8 PM, Wednesday, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at church. Interment in Elim Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to put towards Gary's projects.
