Gene Thompson

Gene Gladys Thompson, age 86, of Chisago City, Minnesota, formerly of Wyoming, Minnesota, died February 28, 2013. Gene was born March 22, 1926 to Hiram Hathaway and Magda Inga (Anderson) Farris in Barron, Wisconsin. They moved to Hoyt Lakes, MN in 1960 and stayed for many years raising their family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents; daughter, Charlene Osborne; grandsons, Stephen Osborne and Eric Suomala; sister, Gwen Thompson; brothers, Oscar and Marvin Farris. She is survived by her children: Debra Suomala, Missy (Ed Hustad) Thompson, Wendy (Gary) Janzen, Kevin (Ana) Thompson, David Rommel; Grandchildren: David Osborne, Mike & Lori Jarvi and their children, Taylor & Rachel; Billy & Cindy Jarvi and their children, Logan , Aubrie, & Bennett; Timothy Jarvi, Adam Suomala, Danielle (David) Stocks and their daughter, Abigail Renae,; Katelyn Thompson; sister, Doris Frisinger; and other extended family and friends. A Celebration of Gene's Life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 N. Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Light refreshments will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Alzheimer's Association.
