Genevieve Knutsen

Genevieve "Gen" Joan Knutsen passed away in her home on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Gen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 8, 1930, to Richard and Mildred Holcomb. She spent her childhood in Penola, Minnesota. She graduated from Osceola High School in 1947. Gen worked for State Farm Insurance until her marriage to Andrew "Andy" Knutsen in 1950. Gen and Andy spent most of their married life in Forest Lake, Minnesota. After Andy passed away in 1976, Gen moved to Fridley, where she lived until she moved to Moorhead, Minnesota in 2004. Gen is survived by her son Steve (Vicky), her daughter Sheree Miller (Matt); granddaughters, Stacy Anderson (Nate), Kari Beaudry, Kelly Knutsen, Abby Hoefs (Adam); three great grandchildren, Owen, Reba and Zoey; and sister, Cynthia (Jack) Walquist. A Celebration of Gen's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 N. Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. Interment will follow at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake.
