Gerald Antes

Gerald “Jerry” A. Antes, age 70, of Lent Township, Minnesota died Monday, December 6, 2021 following complications of COVID.  Jerry was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Alexandria, Minnesota, Class of 1970.  Jerry graduated from Alexandria Vocational Technical with a degree in computer programming in 1972.  He enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy for four years.  Following his honorable discharge, he double majored at Mankato State University.  He began his working career at Green Giant in Le Sueur, later worked at Pillsbury before a 28-year career at Honeywell, retiring in 2013.  Jerry loved his family; they meant the world to him.  He always looked forward to adventures with his family, from camping, hiking, backpacking.  In later years he was thrilled to watch his grandchildren in their sporting events and challenging them to a board game.  For many years, he was the Apostle Paul in Witness Messiah at Maranatha Church.  Jerry will be forever loved and remembered for his positive outlook on life and his infectious smile.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Helen (Paschke); sister, Carol Vasaly.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra; children, Christopher, Jason (Paula), Laura; grandchildren, Darrin Hill, Wyatt and Cora Antes; brother, Dale (Denise) Antes; other family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.
