Harmon, Gerald J. ''Jerry''18 March 2005Following a valiant struggle with cancer.Jerry was born 20 August 1929 in Spokane, Wash., son of Addie and Emil. Leaving home at age 15, Jerry began a life of adventure. Off to see the world, he spent the closing months of WWII sailing the Pacific with the US Merchant Marine. Upon his return, Jerry graduated from Veteran's H.S. in Seattle. Enlisting in the US Army, Jerry served honorably as an aircrewman, transferring to the USAF when that service became separate in 1947. He served USNR 1950-1958. He worked 38 yrs. at Honeywell in the Aerospace and Defense Systems Divisions. Jerry wed his childhood sweetheart Lorraine in 1948, and celebrated 50+ yrs. of marriage. Together they had three wonderful children, Rick (Dorothy), Terri (Denny), and Chip (Tammy). Jerry enjoyed travel, the outdoors, and most of all, time with his family.A fighter to the end, Jerry overcame tremendous odds to survive a near fatal illness in 2001, underwent a kidney transplant in 2002 (a gift of his daughter), and was diagnosed with cancer in January. 2005.Jerry passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son after a brief but intense struggle. Loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and ''best buddy'', he will be dearly missed by his wife Lorraine; his children; grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Natalie, Niklas, and Ben; great grandchildren, Kelsey, Parker, Madalen, Hailey Jo, and Christian; and his devoted pal ''Booker''.
