Gladys Gorton

Gladys "Jean" Gorton, Age 68, Beloved Wife, Mother, Granny, Dear Friend, Died while surrounded by her family following a brief illness on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Jean retired after fifteen years as a continuing care coordinator at Hazelden. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Ploncinsky; brother in law, Barney Flanaghan. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Gary; children, Chris (Monica), Mark; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Breanna, Hannah, Natalie, Tanis; siblings, Nancy (Joe) Minahan, Midge Flanaghan, Elsie (Jack) Sandquist, Fran (Les) Steiner, John Ploncinsky; other family and friends. Jean was a very loving and caring woman, who adored her family and friends. In her life she has always cared for and supported others through her many callings. We take comfort in honoring her wishes to continue to serve others in her passing through organ donations. Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow, Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Future interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake. Memorials will be directed to Parkinson Research.
