Glendon Shaleen

Glendon "Glen" L. Shaleen, age 85 of Isle, Minnesota and formerly of Scandia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010. Glen was the former owner of Shalander & Shaleen Sand and Gravel and Ski-Doo Business in Scandia, MN. Proudly served his country in the Marines during World War II conflict and was a member of both the Bayport Legion and VFW in Isle, MN. He also served 36 years on the Scandia Fire Department. Preceded in death by wife, Dolores; siblings, Ray Shaleen, Marjorie Lindell and Jeanette Nord. Survived by children, Nancy (Tim) Carlson, Alan (Sue) Shaleen; four grandchildren, Angie Carlson, Becky (Wardell) Haywood, Renee (Jon) Meyer, Michael Shaleen; four great grandchildren, Shea and Reid Meyer, Wardell and Ava Haywood; sister, June (Reuben) Shalander, special friend Grace Lazorik and many other extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be 5:00~8:00 p.m., Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Scandia. Memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, or Faith Lutheran Church in Isle, MN, 220 East Lake St., Isle, MN 56342.
