Gordon C. "Bud" Johnson was born November 18, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota and was raised on the Eastside. He died April 14, 2010 at his home following a brave battle with heart disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Yvonne (nee Nuebel) Johnson; and their four loving and precious daughters, Jean, Janet, Julie Ann, Kristy Jo; and their husbands, Kevin and Jean Lindstrand and their children, Kristin Marie (Travis) Nelson, Kathryn Jean, Erik; Dave and Janet Holcombe; Mike and Julie Ann Thoemke and their children, Ethan, Bryce, Nadine; Robert and Kristy Jo Knobloch and their children, Jack and Tony; sister, Delores (Walt) Bjoraker; brother-in-law, Edward (Sally) Nuebel; sister-in-law Jean (Bob) Pederson; nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bud retired from NSP following 37 years of employment and was a member of IBEW Union #23. After his retirement he worked at Whispering Pines in Forest Lake for eighteen years. Bud and Yvonne made their home in Wyoming for twenty years before moving to North Oaks. In his free time, Bud enjoyed all forms of wildlife, and his collections of guns and knives. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
