Died August 21, 2008.

Born July 11, 1932 and raised on a farm in Scandia Township, where he lived all of his life. Resident of Oakhill Cottages the last three years of his life. Baptized, confirmed & life long member at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia. Married on June 4, 1954 to Judy Andersen. Loved and survived by Judy; children, Karen (Jerry) Johnson, Roger (Peggy), Kathy (Mike) Judson, David (Brenda), Kristin (Matt) Benson; grandchildren, Erin (Shawn) Timm, Allen Rydeen, Holly (Jesse) Modahl, Michelle McCarty, Lisa Rydeen, Travis Judson, Patrick Rydeen, Kelsie Judson, Benjamin Benson, Reanna Benson; great-grandchildren, Trey Timm, Chase McCarty, Addison Timm; sisters, Elaine Jemelka, Lois Mallum, Irene (Wally) Carlson; sisters-in-law, Betty Andersen Ewald, Susan Andersen Weiss; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Rydeen. Gordon loved farming, especially his tractors. He participated in tractor pulling for a number of years. Charter member and very active in the Scandia-Marine Lions Club. Avid member of the Meister’s coffee gang. Gordon loved to meet people and made friends wherever he went. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Funeral service 3 pm at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia, on Monday, August 25, 2008. Visitation from 5-8 pm, Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and also from 2 pm until the time of the service at the church. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Scandia.
